The Alleged Perpetrator Of Persecution In Pulogadung Is Suspected Of Often Beating New ART

JAKARTA The case of violence against a Household Assistant (ART) with the initials S (25) in the Kunci Street area, Pulogadung District, East Jakarta, is suspected not to be the first time this has happened. According to local residents, the act of violence has often been carried out by the victim's employer.

Anto, a complex security officer, revealed that he was aware of this incident from a neighbor who lived next to the perpetrator's house.

"We know that the incident came from a neighbor next door who said there was persecution. The victim (S) fled from home. Until now the victim has not returned to her employer's house," Anto told reporters, Monday, March 24.

Anto added that violence against ART has often occurred. In fact, the victim's employer often replaces assistants and similar cases keep repeating themselves.

"This is the first time the maid has finally left the house after this incident. Incidents like this have often been reported, but only now have they been reported," he said.

According to Anto, the perpetrator and his family had lived in the housing complex for about five years. During that time, every ART that works in the house is suspected of being abused.

"There is usually only one assistant, but it changes frequently. After this incident, there will only be a report," he added.

Previously, the East Jakarta Metro Police had coordinated with the Banyumas Police regarding this case of persecution.

"We have examined the witnesses and sent an invitation letter for the alleged perpetrator. The victim has also been taken to the hospital for a visum et repertum (VER)," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the East Jakarta Metro Police, AKBP Armunanto, Monday, March 24.
