TANGERANG - The Food and Drug Administration (BPOM) found food ingredients containing hazardous chemicals in one of the markets in the Alam Sutera (Alsut) area, South Tangerang (Tangsel).

The head of BPOM Tangerang, M Sony Mughofir, said that the food from soybeans uses corpse preservatives, pest cleaners that are also widely used by industry.

In addition, tofu and yellow noodles were found to contain formaldehyde. He said that the hazard substance is not like a bacteria that when consumed directly causes diarrhea.
