Asking KPK For Suggestions Regarding The 3 Million Houses Program, Minister Of PKP Maruarar Sirait Was Reminded About CSR Funds

JAKARTA - Minister of Housing and Settlement (PKP) Maruarar Sirait was reminded by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) about social responsibility funds or corporate social responsibility (CSR). The incoming money must be ensured for the people.

This was conveyed by Maruarar after holding a meeting with the KPK leadership at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday, March 18.

He was present together with the Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Saifullah Yusuf or Gus Ipul as well as the Head of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, and representatives of BP Tapera. They discussed preventing corruption in a number of government programs, including the procurement and renovation program of 3 million houses for low-income people.

"Earlier, I also received directions that CSR is allowed as long as it is for the welfare of the people, not for office purposes. So it is not for personal purposes," Maruarar told reporters at the location.

Maruarar said the statement from the anti-corruption commission at the meeting would be his guide. This is because many foundations and companies he claims have intended to provide CSR funds for the procurement and renovation program of the 3 million houses.

"This is so there is a legal certainty that it can be done after the day that it can be done after today we get clear and firm directions from the KPK," he said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chairperson of the KPK Johanis Tanak said that the government's intention to provide a decent home for low-income people should not be wrongly targeted. Thus, corruption prevention must be carried out.

"And this is what is being done so that there are no bad things or state money that goes into private pockets or in illegal pockets," said Johanis.

"This is the prevention that we are doing, which the Minister both (Minister of PKP and Minister of Social Affairs, ed) together with BPS so that there is prevention. There is no corruption. We pray together that there will be no corruption," he concluded.
