Sufmi Dasco Asks National Police Chief Sigit Pecat And Criminal Ex-Kapolres Ngada AKBP Fajar

JAKARTA - Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, assessed that the National Police's move was right in handling cases of child molestation and drugs by the former Ngada Police Chief, AKBP Fajar Widyadharma Lukman Sumaatmaja, who has now been named a suspect.

So that the leadership of the DPR will not ask Commission III of the DPR to summon the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo regarding the case.

"No (asked Commission III to summon the National Police Chief). I think the steps taken by the National Police are appropriate that the actions committed are inappropriate acts," said Dasco after a surprise inspection (sidak) at Kramat Jati Market, East Jakarta, Friday, March 14.

However, Dasco encouraged the National Police Chief to give severe punishment to the former Ngada Police Chief if found guilty in the case. Apart from being a criminal, he considered, AKBP Fajar should also be fired.

"And of course a severe punishment that if it is proven that it must be accompanied, I think it must be done, in addition to the crime, it must also be fired from the Police," said Dasco.

It is known that the former Ngada Police Chief AKBP Fajar Widyadharma Lukman Sumaatmaja was named a suspect in a drug and immoral case. Currently, Fajar is being held at the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police.

National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo emphasized that he would take firm action against AKBP Fajar. General Sigit said the National Police would process AKBP Fajar both ethically and criminally.

"What is clear is that the case will be dealt with firmly, both criminally and ethically," said General Sigit at the Ministry of Education and Culture, Jakarta, Thursday, March 13.
