The Governor Of Kaltara And ASN Pay Zakat Through Baznas

TANJUNG SELOR Governor of North Kalimantan (Kaltara) Zainal A Paliwang together with the heads of Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) within the Kaltara Provincial Government (Pemprov) pay zakat maal or zakat assets to the Kaltara National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas).

Governor Zainal said his party welcomed the Kaltara Zakat', with the hope that the community, especially the State Civil Apparatus (ASN), could understand the importance of zakat, infaqak and shodaqoh for the welfare of the people.

"Zakat is one of the pillars in Islam that has an important role in the welfare of the people," said Governor Zainal, Monday, March 10.

"By paying zakat, not only carrying out obligations as a Muslim, but also helping brothers and sisters in need, so as to improve welfare and reduce social inequality in society," he continued.

He emphasized the meaning of zakat as one of the main pillars in Islam that connects spiritual and social needs.

"Zakat is not only a religious obligation, but also a way to achieve the blessing of life," he added.

He emphasized that based on Law Number 23 of 2011 concerning Zakat Management, it was emphasized that Zakat must be managed professionally, transparently and accountably by the official Baznas institution.

In addition, through Presidential Instruction Number 3 of 2014, the Government also encourages the optimization of zakat, infaq and alms collection, including the active role of ASN in distributing zakat through Baznas.

Governor Zainal also thanked Baznas Kaltara for working hard in maximizing zakat, infaq and shodaqoh acceptance and distribution in Kaltara.

"I invite all people of North Kalimantan, especially ASN, business actors and all elements of society who have the ability to make zakat part of a lifestyle. We can strengthen ukhuwah Islamiyah and build a more prosperous and blessed North Kalimantan," he said.

It is known that the provincial government has also handed over a number of assistance to underprivileged communities in the form of happy Ramadan packages, 18 housing housing assistance, and mustahik living expenses assistance.
