The Case Of The Death Of A UKI Student Is Still Being Investigated, The Police Chief Has Not Called There Is A Criminal Element

The East Jakarta Metro Police is still investigating the death of a student at the Indonesian Christian University (UKI) Faculty of Fisipol named Kenzha Walewangko (22). Investigators are still collecting evidence to determine whether this case is a criminal act or not.

"Investigators from the East Jakarta Metro Police are still under investigation, we are still determining whether this is a criminal case or not. That's why we are trying to collect evidence. We are analyzing the evidence to determine whether this is a criminal offense or not," said East Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Nicolas Ary Lilipaly, Monday, March 10.

The police chief added that the autopsy results of the victim could not be disclosed because the person authorized to provide information was a team of forensic experts.

"The results of the autopsy must be explained by experts, not by investigators. We are still waiting for the results of the VER and autopsy. Further examinations are still being carried out by forensic experts," he said.

However, Kombes Nicolas admitted that there were wounds on the victim's body.

"There is a wound on the head," he said.

Currently, investigators from the East Jakarta Metro Police Satreskrim are still investigating and deepening the evidence that has been confiscated. The evidence that has been collected includes used bottles of drinks, broken fences, and stones.

Previously, the East Jakarta Metro Police had examined 18 witnesses regarding the death of Kenzha Walewangko at the UKI Cawang Campus, East Jakarta. Of the 18 witnesses, 13 were students, while the other 5 came from the UKI, including reporters from the campus authorities and 4 security guards who were on duty on the night of the incident.

"Currently, the Police have examined 18 witnesses," said Kombes Nicolas Ary Lilipaly to reporters, Friday (7/3/2025).

The police continue to investigate this case by collecting more evidence and waiting for the complete results from the forensic expert's examination. The investigation will continue to reveal the true facts of the death of the UKI student.
