JAKARTA - The Ministry of Religion introduced the concept of the Curriculum of Love as an answer to humanitarian issues for UIN Malang students from Europe, the Middle East, ASEAN, to America, in the Ramadan Global Camp.
The Secretary General of the Ministry of Religion, Kamaruddin Amin, said that there is no reason for living things in the world not to love each other, considering that in every step of humanity there is an ecosystem in which it cannot be separated from the Creator's orchestration.
"We cannot achieve success without a supportive ecosystem. There is a relationship between humans and humans, humans, nature, and the social environment that we must protect," said Kamaruddin as quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, March 9.
The Cinta Curriculum was first conveyed by the Minister of Religion Nasaruddin Umar as a guide for educational institutions under the Ministry of Religion.
Islamic Higher Education is required to be at the forefront of producing a future generation based on a curriculum based on love.
Director of Islamic Higher Education of the Ministry of Religion Sahiron Samsudin said that in presenting the great idea of the Cinta Curriculum, the Minister of Religion was not only based on Al Quran and Hadith, but also reviewing religious texts.
In fact, not only Islam, but from various religions that all lead to love as an answer to the problems of developing social affairs in the world.
"He reads many social problems, poverty, violence, social conflicts and many more are developing in the global community, so he is keen to read this," he said.
Religion teaches how humans live in harmony and peace, but in reality many social problems occur.
"This means there is something to be resolved, and the most ideal way is through education, from elementary levels, children, to higher levels, through this love-based curriculum," said Sahiron.
In line with Sahiron, the Chancellor of Malang UIN, Zainuddin, explained that Indonesia is a country with a majority Muslim population. However, the biggest challenge is how this majority can still oversee and provide peace to other religions in Indonesia.
"The Minister said that plurality is like a painting of God from various variants, therefore it should not be tainted, let alone then damaged," he said.
Representatives of foreign students from Libya, Salih Alson Haji, said that since deciding to study in Indonesia, he has found various beauty that distinguishes Indonesia from other countries.
