JAKARTA - Central Java's Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection Service Center (BP3MI) has opened its voice regarding Ribut Uripah, an Indonesian migrant worker who was found in the Malaysian forest after missing without news since the last 19 years.
Based on the official report received by BP3MI Central Java, Ribut Uripah left for Malaysia to work as a household assistant (ART) in 2006.
"Since his departure, he has never given news to his family in Indonesia," wrote the official report of BP3MI Central Java received on Saturday, March 8.

The departure of Ribut Uripah to Malaysia is said to be not in accordance with procedural or illegal. This is because BP3MI Java did not find data in the administrative service system for the placement of Indonesian migrant workers (SISKOP2MI).
Regarding the legal status of Ribut Uripah when leaving for Malaysia, the data has not been found in the KP2MI SISKOP2MI system. So it is reasonable to suspect that Mrs. Ribut Uripah left non-procedurally," wrote BP3MI Central Java.
Currently, Ribut Uripah is at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) Malaysia for deepening and health checks.
"After being evacuated, Ribut Uripah is in good health and has been at the Indonesian Embassy in Malaysia and when an interview is conducted, the person concerned can answer the question well," reads the Central Java BP3MI report.
Then, KemenP2MI will coordinate with the relevant ministries or institutions to repatriate Ribut Uripah. Ribut Uripah will undergo an administrative process so that he can be sent back to Indonesia. Regarding the return of the person concerned, BP3MI Central Java cannot confirm yet.
"After being evacuated to the Indonesian Embassy in Malaysia, Ribut Uripah will undergo an administrative and repatriation process which is estimated to take time for administration management," said the Central Java BP3MI report.
