President Prabowo Meets Ray Dalio To Discuss Asset Management And Investment In Indonesia

JAKARTA - The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, held a meeting with global investor Ray Dalio at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Friday, March 7. During the meeting, a number of ministers and private entrepreneurs in Indonesia were also present to discuss national asset management strategies, as well as increasing investment in Indonesia.

In his introduction, President Prabowo emphasized the importance of consolidating Indonesia's economic power through a new entity, namely the Danantara Indonesia Investment Management Agency (BPI) which was just launched last February. This Danantara is consolidated to integrate state assets to increase efficiency and competitiveness at the global level.

"We consolidate this antara to carry out a repair, an improvement in performance, by making improvements, where improvements need to be made and we admit ourselves that we need a lot of improvement so that our asset performance is quite good," said President Prabowo.

The Head of State emphasized that openness to critical views as well as the experience of global investors and professionals is very important in managing Indonesia's assets in the future. Furthermore, President Prabowo hopes that all economic entities can be implemented efficiently and able to compete with all entities in the world.

During the meeting, President Prabowo Subianto also highlighted the launch of Indonesia's new sovereign wealth fund (SWF) and invited Ray Dalio to share common insights. In addition, the Head of State also invited Ray Dalio to participate in Indonesia's economic development.
