Jambi Batanghari DPRD Member Becomes Suspect Of DO Sawit Fraud Loss Victim Of IDR 7.5 Billion Detained

The police have named a member of the Batanghari Regency DPRD in Jambi named Ilhamsyah as a suspect in the alleged Palm Oil delivery order (DO) fraud which resulted in the victim experiencing a loss of Rp7.5 billion.

Dirreskrimum Polda Jambi Kombes Pol Manang Soebeti said the determination was made after the suspect underwent examination. The suspect was officially detained for the next 20 days.

"Last night the examination was until 01.00 WIB, then investigators concluded that the incident was fulfilled by elements so that investigators conducted a case title and named the suspect in the case," said Manang in Jambi, Friday, March 7, as quoted by Antara.

Regarding the use of the fraudulent money, Manang explained that from the examination it was found that the money was used for the needs concerned.

The suspect, said Manang, committed fraud with persuasion until the victim was tempted. The loss suffered by the victim reached Rp7.5 billion.

His party has not confirmed that other parties are victims of the fraud.

The money from the fraud was used by the suspect for the needs of the person concerned.

"It takes time to take the money not at once from March 2023 to August 2023," he said.

On Thursday (6/3), the Jambi Regional Police Ditreskrimum examined a member of the Batanghari Regency Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) regarding the alleged fraud case.

Wadirkrimsus Jambi Police AKBP Imam Rachman in Jambi confirmed the arrest of the council member.

This Batanghari DPRD member is being investigated for alleged fraud cases. Currently, investigators are still investigating to find out the losses caused by the fraud case.

Based on the information obtained, this case concerns the alleged oil palm do fraud. From the information, the victim suffered losses of up to billions of rupiah due to the fraud.
