Escaped From Life Imprisonment, Supervisor Coin Bar Pematangsiantar Sentenced To 20 Years In Drug Cases

The panel of judges at the Medan District Court sentenced drug dealer Hilda Dame Ulina Pangaribuan (36), a Coin Bar supervisor in Pematangsiantar City, North Sumatra.

"Sentenced the defendant Hilda Dame Ulina Pangaribuan to 20 years in prison," said Chief Judge Nani Sukmawati at the Medan District Court, Thursday, March 6.

The judge stated that the defendant Hilda had committed an evil conspiracy in the form of offering ecstasy drugs for sale.

The defendant, selling, buying, became an intermediary in buying and selling, exchanging, and handing over or receiving narcotics class I.

"The defendant Hilda's actions were proven to have violated Article 114 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph (1) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics," explained Nani.

According to the judge, the defendant Hilda's actions were burdensome because he did not support the government's program to eradicate drugs, and the defendant's actions had disturbed the public.

"Meanwhile, the mitigating factors on the defendant's actions were not found," said Judge Nani.

After reading the verdict, Chief Judge Nani Sukmawati gave the defendant Hilda and the Public Prosecutor (JPU) of the Medan Kejari.

"Given seven days to state whether to appeal or accept this verdict," said Hakim Nani.

The verdict was lighter than the demands of the Medan Prosecutor's Office Rizqi Darmawan because he previously charged the defendant Hilda with life imprisonment.

The prosecutor Rizqi in his indictment stated that the defendant Hilda was involved in the circulation of ecstasy and 50 ecstasy pills (H5).

"The defendant received an order from Binsar Siregar (DPO) as the owner of Coin Bar and Rizki Ramadan (DPO), telling him to buy 100 ecstasy pills and 50 Erimin pills to Hendrik Kosumo (separate file) at a price of Rp. 150,000 per item," he said.

This drug order was made through the WhatsApp application, and the payment was made through Debby Kent's account (separate file) as the wife of Hendrik Kosumo.

The ordered goods were then sent using the delivery service of PT Pelita Paradep to Pematangsiantar City. The defendant Hilda instructed Rizki Ramadan to take it.

The drug package arrived at the Paradep counter, Pematangsiantar City and was taken by Arpen Tua Purba (separate file) as a Paradep counter employee, then arrested by the police.

"Based on Arpen's confession, the item was obtained on the orders of Rizki Ramadan, who stated that the defendant Hilda was ordering the ecstasy," explained Public Prosecutor Rizqi.
