The First Week Of Ramadan 2025, 51 Divorce Cases Occurred In Palembang

JAKARTA - The Palembang Religious Court (PA) in South Sumatra (Sumsel) handled 51 cases of husband and wife divorce in the first week of Ramadan for the period 1-6 March 2025.

The Registrar of the Palembang Religious Court Yuli Suryadi was confirmed in Palembang, Thursday, saying that in the first week of Ramadan 1-6 March 2025, his party handled 51 cases of husband and wife divorce.

"The types of cases are 13 divorce divorces and 38 divorce cases," he said.

According to him, the figure based on reports occurred due to one gambling case, two cases of domestic violence (KDRT), 44 cases due to constant disputes and quarrels, and four cases due to economic factors.

"Yes, most of them are due to continuous disputes and quarrels, there are 44 cases," he said.

He added that the Palembang Religious Court always provides efforts to unite both parties who file for divorce by mediating and advisoring them if they are present at trial based on Supreme Court Regulation 1 Number 12.

"The power we provide is in the form of the impact that will occur after divorce such as children, property and others," he said.

However, he said there were also those who succeeded even though divorce continued, but custody, property, could still have good relations because they listened to the advice of the Religious Court.
