PM MUSTAfa Emphasizes The Importance Of Uniting Gaza Strip And West Bank For Palestinian National Unity

JAKARTA - Palestinian Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Mohammad Mustafa, stressed the importance of uniting the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, hoping for a serious contribution to strengthening Palestinian national unity.

During a Joint Press Conference with the Secretary-General of the Arab League after the Extraordinary Arab Summit in Cairo, Egypt, PM Mustafa emphasized that the Palestinian National Authority has a service and administrative institution, that the reconstruction process will be carried out under the framework of governance and an independent body that oversees its implementation.

He stated that the plan would be submitted to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to be developed into a joint Arab-Islamic initiative, followed by engagement with European countries, the United States and Japan to submit plans and details, quoted from WAFA March 5.

PM Mustafa further highlighted the importance of the upcoming International Conference for Gaza Reconstruction, which is planned to be held in Cairo next month with high-level participation.

The Prime Minister reiterated that the communication at the end of the Arab summit discussed all aspects of the Palestinian struggle, that efforts would continue to be made by all relevant parties to implement Gaza's reconstruction plan.

It is known that the Palestinian Authority, which runs the government and leads the Fatah, controls the occupied West Bank. Meanwhile, the Hamas militant group controls the Gaza Strip region.
