A 17-year-old Teenager Dies After Crashing Into Separator And Truck In Central Jakarta

JAKARTA - A teenager with the initials MM (17) died in a traffic accident that occurred on Jalan Gunung Sahari, Sawah Besar District, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday, March 5. The victim who was riding a Honda motorcycle had an accident after crashing into a road separator and being hit by a truck whose police number was not known.

Head of Traffic at the Central Jakarta Metro Police, Kompol Gomos Simamora, revealed that the victim was a student who lived in South Tugu, Koja, North Jakarta. According to police information, the accident occurred when MM was traveling at high speed from South to North on Jalan Gunung Sahari.

"While opposite the bank, the motorbike driven by the victim lost control and hit the road separator," said Kompol Gomos when confirmed.

As a result of the collision, MM bounced and was hit by a truck passing by at the scene. The hard impact left MM fatally injured and eventually died at the scene (TKP). The victim's body was then evacuated to Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM).

Apart from MM, this accident also involved another driver with the initials MR (23), who was riding a Yamaha motorcycle. MR, who is a resident of Sunter Jaya, Tanjung Priok, suffered serious injuries to his head, face, left shoulder, and legs. Currently, MR is undergoing intensive treatment at Hermina Hospital.

After the incident, the Laka Unit of the Central Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Unit secured two vehicles involved in the accident as evidence. The police have also asked for statements from a number of witnesses at the location, sketched the incident, and compiled an official report related to this incident.

The police appeal to all motorists to always be careful in driving and comply with traffic rules for mutual safety.
