In the video, a woman's voice can be heard recording the incident while providing information about the whereabouts of the wife of the Mayor of Bekasi.

"Our mayor's house was flooded, guys. So he's staying at Horison," said the woman in a video recording quoted on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.

In the recording, Wiwiek appears to have come accompanied by several people. He was also seen saying goodbye to the woman who recorded the video, and even kissed his cheek before entering the hotel.

This video has drawn various reactions from netizens. Many highlighted Wiwiek's decision to flee to the hotel, while thousands of residents had to stay in refugee camps with makeshift facilities.
