The Deputy Chief of Police of Talibu Island, North Maluku, Kompol S, was officially removed from his position after being suspected of having an affair with a member of the North Maluku DPRD, with the initials AYM alias Agriati.

"This removal was carried out by the North Maluku Regional Police following the viral upload of the daughter of Kompol S, Diny Apriliani Eka Putri, who exposed the alleged affair on social media," said Head of Public Relations of the North Maluku Police, Kombes Bambang Suharyono in Ternate as reported by ANTARA, Monday, March 3.

Kombes Bambang, the position of Deputy Chief of Police is now being replaced by Kompol Sinar Syamsu from Itwasda Polda North Maluku.

"The detained police chief has been removed from his position and replaced by Kompol Sinar Syamsu," said Bambang.

This removal was also carried out after a demonstration by the Alliance of Anti-Violence Solidarity Front in front of the North Maluku Police Headquarters on the same day.

During the action, the masses demanded that the North Maluku Police Chief Inspector General Midi Siswoko immediately remove Kompol S on suspicion of an affair that had tarnished the police institution.

This case emerged to the public after Dicky uploaded a recording of his father's conversation with A on social media, accompanied by an open letter to Golkar Party Chairman Bahlil Lahadalia, to take action against his cadres suspected of being involved in the scandal. However, A then reported Dicky on suspicion of defamation.

Meanwhile, the action coordinator, Rian, highlighted the report and confirmed that allegations of defamation should be tested based on facts.

He emphasized that Articles 310 and 311 of the Criminal Code and Article 27 paragraph (3) of the ITE Law cannot be used to silence the truth.

"If the information that Diny conveys is fact and can be proven to be true, then it is not defamation. Don't let the truth be obscured by one-sided reports," said Rian.

Rian also revealed that as a result of this case, Diny experienced severe mental stress and had to undergo psychiatric treatment every week. Meanwhile, her mother actually received threats from those who felt aggrieved.

He emphasized that this case is not just a personal moral issue, but also reflects injustice in the legal and social system.

"How is it possible that a high-ranking police official who should be a role model is actually suspected of being involved in a scandal that destroys the lives of others?" he asked.

In addition, his party also questioned integrity A as a member of Commission II of the North Maluku DPRD which has development and equal distribution programs for women and children.
