South Sumatra (Sumsel) Governor Herman Deru is targeting to build as many as 1,000 new housing units in the region within his first 100 working days.
South Sumatra Governor Herman Deru in Palembang, Saturday, said the program was in line with the central government's policy to support the Prabowo-Gibran mission, namely the target of building three million houses throughout Indonesia.
"We will immediately follow up this concrete policy by summoning the Public Works Department of Perkim to determine the development target. In the next 100 working days, we are targeting the construction of 1,000 new houses in South Sumatra," he said.
He said it was not only building new houses, but also repairing housing for underprivileged people.

"In the month of Ramadan, we will give home renovation assistance to our underprivileged brothers and sisters, so that residential conditions are more appropriate before Eid," he said.
In addition, his party is also ready to assist in monitoring the infrastructure of the Free Nutrition Food Program (MBG) which is fully funded by the central government.
"We are committed to supporting the supervision of the MBG infrastructure, considering that the funding is 100 percent from the center," he said.
Herman Deru hopes that through the 100 working days program, South Sumatra can show real performance in housing and infrastructure development, as well as support the national vision to achieve Indonesia's progress and independence towards 2045.
