Bareskrim Pockets Potential Suspect In Case Of Forgery Of SHM Pagar Laut In Segarajaya Village, Bekasi

The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police stated that it had pocketed a potential suspect in the case of alleged forgery of Certificates of Ownership (SHM) related to the Bekasi sea fence or what occurred in Segarajaya Village, Tarumajaya District, Bekasi.

The Director of General Crimes at Bareskrim Polri, Brigadier General Djuhandhani Rahardjo Puro, said that the narrowing of potential suspects was in line with the process of investigating the case.

"For Segarajaya, we already have suspects, who are potential suspects," said Djuhandhani to reporters, Friday, February 28.

However, Djuhandhani was reluctant to reveal the identity of the potential suspect in question. In fact, when asked about the possibility of the suspect being a village apparatus, the one-star general remained in his position to close the meeting on this matter

The reason is that investigators prioritize the principle of presumption of innocence. So, it is not yet time to reveal potential suspects.

"We still hold the principle of presumption of innocence, we will still prove everything with truly professional evidence, we will scientifically prove it," he said.

Moreover, investigators are currently gathering clues to strengthen the process of determining the suspect in the case.

"There are processes that we must follow. There is a lot of coordination or asking for information, be it experts or laboratory test results, which later we can impose on the suspect," said Djuhandhani.

Previously, it was reported that investigators had conducted a case involving the alleged forgery of the SHM. As a result, a criminal act was found so that the status of the case was decided to be upgraded to the investigation stage.

At least 93 SHMs were allegedly faked related to the Bekasi sea fence or what happened in Segarajaya Village, Tarumajaya District.

So far, about 25 witnesses have been examined. They come from ministries, institutions, village apparatus agencies, and the village community. "We have processed and examined 25 witnesses," said Djuhandhani.
