The Legal Team Visits Hasto At The KPK Detention Center Today, Discusses The Party To Ensure Comfort

The PDI-P (PDIP) legal team visited PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto at the KPK Detention Center (Rutan) today, Friday, February 21. They wanted to visit and discuss several things, including conveying the development of party activities with the politician.

Hasto has been detained by the KPK since last Thursday, February 20. The detention relates to the bribery case for the interim replacement (PAW) of members of the DPR RI and the obstruction of the investigation that ensnared him.

"Want to visit Mas Hasto, investigators yesterday said he could. Today we are trying. (Want to discuss, red) there are many party activities, other matters," said Ronny B. Talapessy as a member of the legal team as well as the Chairperson of the PDIP DPP for Legal Reform to reporters at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Friday, February 21.

Ronny did not want to elaborate further on the discussion that would be carried out by the team and Hasto. He only said that Hasto was still a party secretary general, so he needed to take care of several things.

Meanwhile, when asked about the instructions of PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri who forbade the PDIP regional head to leave for the retreat in Magelang, Ronny did not want to talk much.

"The team of lawyers is now focused on the law," he said.

"We want to visit Mas Hasto and wish Mas Hasto well. We have to make sure his comfort is safe," said the lawyer.

Previously reported, PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto was officially detained in connection with the bribery case for the interim replacement (PAW) of members of the Indonesian House of Representatives and the obstruction of the investigation on Thursday, February 20. He occupied the State Detention Center Branch of the East Jakarta Class I State Detention Center for 20 days and could be extended according to the needs of investigators.

Hasto was charged with Article 21 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Corruption Crimes Jo. Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code.

As for the bribery case related to PAW, members of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), the process will be carried out stimulus. This is because the investigation warrant (sprindik) issued on December 23, 2024, focuses more on the application of Article 21.
