JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung delivered his first speech at a plenary meeting held at the DKI Jakarta DPRD after being officially inaugurated today.

When greeting the leadership of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Pramono made the full names of three Deputy Chairmen of the DKI DPRD, namely Rani Mauliani, Wibi Andrino, and Basri Baco. He was cheated on when he read the name that had been stated in his speech paper.

"What I really respect is the deputy governor of Jakarta, Mr. Rano Karno, the chairman of the DKI Jakarta Provincial DPRD, Mr. Drs. Haji Khoirudin, and also the Deputy Chairperson of Mrs. Ima Mahdiah, Mrs. Hajjah Rani Maul... Maulian... Mauliani. Mr. Wibi Andriano and Mr. Brasi Baco," said Pramono in the plenary meeting room of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Thursday, February 20.

Realizing the mistake of the pronunciation, Pramono, who recently served as Governor of DKI Jakarta, apologized to the audience.

"I'm sorry if I'm still wrong," Pramono continued.

On that occasion, Pramono expressed his gratitude and hoped for good cooperation to members of the DKI Jakarta DPRD in carrying out their work program in the next five years.

"Leading Jakarta for me and Bang Doel is a mandate. I honestly never imagined being the Governor of Jakarta. In fact, this is the first time I have been in this room, entering City Hall twice. Even though I have been an official for 25 years, I have never imagined that in my life I will be the Governor of Jakarta," explained Pramono.

Pramono said, Jakarta is now entering a new chapter that is different from other regions in Indonesia. With a status that is no longer the capital city, Jakarta must move forward as the center of the national economy and transform into a global city.

"It is time for Jakarta to compete at the world level as a global city in accordance with the mandate of Law Number 2 of 2024 concerning Special Regions in Jakarta," he said.

Jakarta is targeted to be included in the top 20 global cities in the world. According to Pramono, the future Jakarta development paradigm relies on competitiveness and attraction, urban physical quality, public services, and most importantly the comfort and happiness of its citizens, who cannot lose to other standard developed cities in the world.

"For this reason, the pillars of development that we are aiming for must be in line with Jakarta's new breath as a Global City. Jakarta's development will adhere to sustainability and innovation. This must begin with the sustainability of all initiatives from both our predecessors," Pramono explained.

For information, Pramono Anung and Rano Karno are included in 961 regional heads who were inaugurated by President Prabowo Subianto at the State Palace today. The inauguration was held starting at 10.00 WIB. After the inauguration, Pramono-Doel went straight to DKI Jakarta City Hall and was greeted by the ranks of the DKI Provincial Government.

The activity was continued with the handover of positions between the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Teguh Setyabudi and Pramono-Rano. Then, Pramono will deliver a speech at the plenary meeting of the DKI Jakarta DPRD Building.

Furthermore, Pramono and Rano attended a community party in the courtyard of the DKI Jakarta City Hall. Next, a leadership meeting with officials from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. The last activity, Pramono and Rano will lead the ready-made rally at Plaza Selatan Monas.
