Undergoing A UNIFIL Peace Mission In The Lebanon Sea, KRI SIM-367 Practice Manuver

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Navy through KRI Sultan Iskandar Muda-367 (KRI SIM-367) conducted maneuver training and helicopter flying exercises while carrying out their duties as the MTF TNI Task Force for the XXVIII-P/UNIFIL Kong with other 448 UNIFIL MTF elements in the Mediterranean waters of Maritime Operation (AMO), Lebanon, Wednesday, February 19.

Head of the Indonesian Navy Information Service First Admiral I Made Wira Hady said the exercise was carried out to hone the soldiers' ability to maneuver and intercept ships.

In addition, this activity also aims to strengthen coordination between the MTF task force which both serve in the Mediterranean sea area.

In the same press release confirmed by Antara Thursday, February 20, the Commander of KRI SIM-367 as well as the Dansatgas MTF TNI Konga XXVIII/P UNIFIL, Marine Lieutenant Colonel (P) Anugerah Annurullah explained that this exercise involved several ships including KRI SIM-367 (Indonesia) and BNS Sangram-F113 (Bangladesh), one Frigate type ship, namely HS Nikiforos Fokas (F-466) from Greece, as well as US Heli 565 Mbe Panther HS-1306 as air elements.

He hopes that this activity can strengthen coordination and capabilities between the MTF task force in carrying out peace missions in the Lebanese seas.

To note, KRI SIM-367 is tasked with replacing KRI Diponegoro 365, who previously served in the same place for one year.

The task of the Indonesian MTF task force there is to block and inspect every ship that enters and enters Lebanon in the Mediterranean ocean. This is done to prevent the entry of smuggled goods such as illegal weapons and so on.
