Satryo Brodjonegoro Hits Cabinet Reshuffle, Deputy Minister Stella: President's Best Decision

JAKARTA - Deputy Minister (Wamen) of Higher Education, Science and Technology (Wamendiktisaintek) Stella Christie respects President Prabowo Subianto's cabinet reshuffle decision to replace Satryo Soemantri Brodjonegoro from his education and technology position.

Satryo Brodjonegoro is now no longer serving as a director after being hit by a cabinet reshuffle, last Wednesday. His position was replaced by Brian Yuliarto who was officially inaugurated as a new education officer based on Presidential Decree (Keppres) Number 26 P of 2025 concerning the Dismissal and Appointment of the Minister of the Red and White Cabinet for the remainder of his term of office for the period 2024-2029.

According to Stella, President Prabowo's move to reshuffle the cabinet is the best decision for the nation and state.

"We believe the President's decision is the very best for the nation and state," said Stella at the Jakarta Presidential Palace complex, Wednesday, February 19.

Stella added that President Prabowo Subianto always makes favorable decisions for the nation and state. He also admitted that he was ready to support Brian Yuliarto to make programs successful at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology.

In addition, Stella believes that changing the position of education and technology will not interfere with the work in her ministry.

"No (disrupt performance). For performance, we from the ministry are always ready to implement it," said Stella.

When asked about the cause of Satryo Brodjonegoro's reshuffle, Stella remained silent and immediately entered his car.

Previously, Satryo Brodjonegoro had opened his voice regarding the cabinet reshuffle carried out by President Prabowo. He admitted that he resigned from his position as director of science and technology and had submitted a letter of resignation to the Ministry of State Secretariat (Setneg), because he felt his performance for four months did not match the president's expectations.

"So I just went to the State Secretariat to submit my resignation letter as an education and technology. The main reason is because I have worked hard for the past four months. However, because it may not be in line with expectations from the government. Yes, I would rather resign than be dismissed," said Satryo to reporters, Wednesday (19/2/2025) when responding to Prabowo's cabinet reshuffle.
