JAKARTA - Kazakhstan will establish contact with Ukraine to avoid repeated attacks by Ukrainian drones this week in southern Russia that hit Kazakhstan's main oil export pipeline station.
The attack on a station belonging to the Kaspia Pipe Consortium (CPC) took place on Monday ahead of talks between US and Russian officials over ending the war in Ukraine.
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said the flow of oil through the CPC had fallen by about 30-40 percent due to the damage caused, and repairs may take several months.
We will communicate with the Ukrainian side, the Kazakh news portal Informburo quoted the statement by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the First Will Rakhmetullin as reported by Reuters, Wednesday, February 19.
There will definitely be contacts here or in Kyiv. We have to solve this problem diplomatically to avoid this in the future," said Rakhmetullin.
