Deputy Chairperson Of The KPK Ensures Call For Mbak Ita Has Been Sent

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Fitroh Rochachyanto confirmed that efforts to summon the Mayor of Semarang Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu and her husband, Arwin Basri who is also the Chairman of Commission D of the Central Java Provincial DPRD will be carried out this week. Investigators have sent a proper summons.

The two were summoned on Tuesday, February 11 as suspects. However, they did not attend on the grounds because Mbak Ita suddenly admitted that he had to be hospitalized.

"There has been a call for the person concerned," Fitroh told reporters in a written statement, Tuesday, February 18.

Meanwhile, KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardhika confirmed that investigators would take a follow-up. This statement was made after Mbak Ita attended a wedding or invitation on Sunday, February 16 yesterday.

"I will not respond from that side (Mbak Ita actually attends a wedding, ed). What is clear is that if investigators think that the person concerned is considered healthy to attend, it is likely that investigators will take actions," Tessa told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Monday, February 17.

Tessa has not detailed the actions that investigators will take. He said this step would only be carried out this week.

"It is possible that action will be taken against HGR's sister, HGR's sister and her husband. Actions in the sense of investigation. What form, I still can't open at this time," he said.

Previously reported, the KPK had detained two suspects in a corruption case within the Semarang City Government (Pemkot), Central Java on Friday, January 17. They are Martono who is the Chairman of the Association of Indonesian National Construction Implementers (Gapensi) of Semarang City and Rachmat Djangkar.

Martono was detained for allegedly participating in receiving gratuities together with the Mayor of Semarang Hevearita Gunaryanti Rahayu alias Mbak Ita and her husband, Alwin Basri who also serves as Chairman of Commission D of the Central Java Provincial DPRD.

Meanwhile, Rachmat was detained for allegedly giving bribes related to the procurement of tables and elementary school chairs at the Semarang City Education Office.

Currently, there are three allegations of corruption that allegedly occurred and are being investigated. The details are the procurement of goods and services at the Semarang City Government in 2023-2024, the alleged extortion of civil servants related to incentives for collecting taxes and levies in the Semarang City area as well as the alleged receipt of gratuities in 2023-2024.
