Hotman Paris Witness To The Chaos Case Of Razman's Trial: The First Case In The History Of Indonesian Courts

The famous lawyer Hotman Paris Hutapea has fulfilled the summons for an investigation by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police regarding the rioting incident at the trial involving Razman Arif Nasution.

In the case reported by the North Jakarta District Court, Hotman Paris will provide testimony as a witness.

"I'm just a witness, so I only told what I saw, I went through the trial," Hotman told reporters, Monday, February 17.

According to him, the chaos that occurred on February 6 is a new history for Indonesia. Where, Razman, who is a defendant and several of his attorneys, behaved inappropriately in the courtroom.

For example, Razman said corruptors with strong voices. Those words seemed to be addressed to the panel of judges. Then, his attorney named Firdaus Oiwobo suddenly went up on the table.

"What is clear is that this is the first case in the history of Indonesian justice," said Hotman.

Previously, it was reported that the North Jakarta District Court (PN) officially reported Razman Arif Nasution and Firdaus Oiwobo to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police on suspicion of humiliation and making noise in the trial.

The report is a follow-up to the North Jakarta District Court regarding the noise that occurred during the trial of alleged defamation with the defendant Razman Arif Nasution.

"So on behalf of the institution, the attitude of our institution has reported the incident," said North Jakarta District Court Public Relations official Maryono, Tuesday, February 11.

In the report, there are three articles reported. First, Article 335 of the Criminal Code concerning unpleasant acts.

Then, Article 207 of the Criminal Code concerning insults to rulers or legal entities in Indonesia, and Article 217 of the Criminal Code concerning making noise in court trials.

"What was reported was Rahman Arif Nasution and his friends," said Maryono.
