Ojol Demo, Government Formulates THR Scheme For Online Taxi Drivers And Ojek

JAKARTA - Minister of Manpower Yassierli said that currently the employers are formulating a holiday allowance (THR) scheme for online taxi drivers and motorcycle taxi drivers. This statement was conveyed in response to the demands of online motorcycle taxi drivers who wanted THR.

"We have given an explanation regarding the previous THR. Entrepreneurs have also stated that they understand the demands and are looking for the best formula. We are waiting for further developments," Yassierli said at the Jakarta Presidential Palace Complex, Monday, February 17.

Yassierli added that the government has accommodated the aspirations of online motorcycle taxi drivers who carry out demonstrations demanding THR, and communication with employers has gone well. The Ministry of Manpower is optimistic that employers will understand and respond to these aspirations.

"What is now the focus is the right amount and the right THR formula. This is being formulated," he explained.

The Minister of Manpower hopes that online taxi and motorcycle taxi drivers can receive THR as workers in general. However, the decision still has to wait for the finalization of the formula that is being carried out by the employers.

Regarding the demonstration of online motorcycle taxi drivers, Yassierli said that the Ministry of Manpower had met three times with their representatives to listen to the aspirations conveyed.

He also promised to meet the drivers who were holding a demonstration in front of the Ministry of Manpower Building on Monday, February 17, 2025.

"They expressed their aspirations while maintaining conduciveness. After the meeting, I will meet them," Yassierli added in response to the demonstration.
