Deputy Minister Of Home Affairs: Cost Of Retret Of Regional Heads Is Reasonable To Secure The State Budget

JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Bima Arya assessed that the budget disbursed by the government for the implementation of regional head recruitment is still within reasonable limits.

According to him, this retreat will provide regional heads with a better understanding of the management of the state budget (APBN) as well as the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD).

"If anyone asks about the costs, yes, it is very reasonable. This is in order to secure Rp3,600 trillion from the state budget and Rp1,300 trillion from the APBD. Guarding thousands of trillions of people's money is important," said Bima in Jakarta, Sunday, February 16.

Bima emphasized that budget management is crucial in the government. Related to this, this retreat will present ministers from various agencies, such as the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), the National Police, the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK), and the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP).

"We are talking about how to manage the APBN and APBD well. This is very important so that public funds are actually managed transparently and accountably," explained Bima regarding one of the materials in the regional head recruitment.

In addition, the retreat will also discuss national resilience and national insight. It aims to make regional heads unifier and nationalist figures.

Then, discuss the main tasks of regional heads. The reason is because not all elected regional heads have the same background in the government.

The regional head recruitment will be held at the Magelang Military Academy (Akmil) on February 21-28, 2025, followed by the elected regional head from the 2024 Pilkada. Meanwhile, the deputy regional head was only present at the closing of the event on February 27-28.

Bima emphasized that investment in the briefing of regional heads is commensurate with its benefits. "Friends of regional heads are at the forefront of regional government. They need strong insight to carry out their duties properly," he concluded regarding the regional head recruitment.
