Floods Hit Settlements In Lebak Due To Heavy Rain

SERANG - A number of settlements in Rangkasbitung, Lebak Regency, Banten, were hit by floods with heights ranging from 30 to 60 centimeters after heavy rains.

"It was very heavy rain for approximately two hours starting from 14.00 WIB to 16.00 WIB. So it caused flooding here," said Dede Kusnedi (50), a resident of the Education Complex, Rangkasbitung, Saturday, (15/2).

Dede said that his settlement in the Education Complex had indeed become a flood subscription, because the drainage channel was small so that the water flow did not run smoothly.

"We hope that the local government can realize the construction of drainage so that the water flow runs smoothly and avoid flooding," he said.

Meanwhile, another resident of the Education Complex Aminudin (32) admitted that his house was flooded as high as 30 centimeters due to the heavy rain and lasted for two hours.

"We and our families are trying to save some household furniture so it doesn't flood," he said.

Observations at flood sites also hit other settlements such as Palaton Housing, Dukuh Village, Cibahbul Village, Education Complex, to Jalan Raya, Rangkasbitung, precisely in front of the Lebak Kodim, until 18.00 WIB the flood seemed to still stagnate.
