Again Asked By Gerindra To Run In The 2029 Presidential Election, Prabowo: God Willing

Prabowo said he was willing but asked for time to complete his duties as president for the 2024-2029 period.

This request is one of the important and strategic decisions of the extraordinary congress (KLB) of the Gerindra Party at the Garudayaksa Padepokan, Bojongkoneng, Hambalang, Bogor, Thursday, February 13.

"The congress asked Pak Prabowo to be willing to run again as a presidential candidate. He replied, 'God willing.' He asked for time to complete his duties as president and fulfill his promises to the people," said Gerindra Party Secretary General Ahmad Muzani.

Muzani said that Prabowo's request to re-run as a presidential candidate in the 2029 presidential election was one of five decisions made by the Gerindra Party KLB. The first decision, said Muzani, was that cadres from the regional to central levels agreed to re-establish Prabowo Subianto as chairman of the Gerindra Party DPP for the 2025-2030 period.

"When asked about his willingness, Pak Prabowo stated that if it was a cadre request, then he was ready to accept this mandate," explained Muzani.

Second, the management or KLB participants also agreed to appoint Prabowo as chairman of the Gerindra Party's supervisory board. The congress participants assessed that Prabowo's figure was still very much needed in providing strategic directions for the party.

Keputusan ketiga, KLB memberikan mandat kepada Prabowo sebagai formatur tunggal dalam menyusun kepengurusan DPP Partai Gerindra 2025-2030. Tugas ini meliputi penyempurnaan Anggaran Dasar dan Anggaran Rumah Tangga (AD/ART) partai serta penetapan struktur kepengurusan.

Keempat, peserta KLB menerima laporan pertanggungjawaban Dewan Pimpinan Pusat (DPP) Partai Gerindra periode 2020-2025. Semua DPC dan DPD menilai kerja-kerja DPP Partai Gerindra 2020-2025 memuaskan dari segi pencapaian politik, tingkat kepercayaan rakyat, hingga pengelolaan keuangan partai.

"We hope that all Gerindra Party cadres in Indonesia will continue to provide full support and trust to Pak Prabowo for the next five years," concluded Muzani.
