Prabowo Praises Jokowi In Government Transition At The World Forum

JAKARTA - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto appreciated the role of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo in assisting the smooth transition of government and the formation of cabinets. This statement was made in his speech at the World Governments Summit 2025.

President Prabowo, who was unable to attend the 2025 World Governments Summit in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, delivered his speech via video. In the speech, he specifically mentioned the name of his predecessor, President Joko Widodo.

"Many skilled Indonesian citizens have built their careers abroad again to serve our country. This success has been greatly helped by the smooth transition that was confirmed by my predecessor, the honorable President Joko Widodo. I would like to express my deepest gratitude for our long cooperation," Prabowo said in a video uploaded to the Presidential Secretariat YouTube account, Friday morning.

Prabowo stated that he thanked Joko Widodo, not only for the smooth transition of government, but also for the cooperation that has been established between the two.

In his speech, President Prabowo highlighted one of the main achievements in his 100-day government, namely forming a fully functioning government, based on the principle of talent and meritocracy.

Therefore, Prabowo involved the nation's children who were judged to have excelled in joining the government, both as ministers and deputy ministers in the Red and White Cabinet.

The Head of State also explained his government's vision, namely to make Indonesia a developed and modern country, with the support of the nation's largest assets: 282 million Indonesians and abundant natural resources.

With 177,000 diverse islands and cultures, Prabowo stated that Indonesia's main challenge is to ensure that every citizen has the opportunity to advance.

"Our mission is to create an environment where every Indonesian citizen can access quality education, health, and economic opportunities," said President Prabowo.
