Polda Metro Bongkar Praktik Pengoplosan Gas LPG Subsidi Di Jakarta Dan Bekasi

JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya uncovered the practice of mixing LPG gas in Bekasi, South Jakarta, and West Jakarta. The mode is to transfer the contents of subsidized gas or the size of 3 kilograms to 12 and 50 kilograms of gas cylinders.

"The perpetrators transferred the contents of 3 kilograms of LPG gas to empty LPG gas cylinders measuring 12 kilograms and 50 kilograms," said Wadirreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya AKBP Indrawienny Panjiyoga to reporters, Thursday, February 13.

In this case, eight people were named as suspects. Five of them have the initials S, W, MR, MS, and P who act as doctors or gas suppliers.

While the other three MR, M, and T are assistant doctors to sellers of mixed products.

In launching the action, the suspects used a regulatory pipe that had been modified in carrying out the action.

In addition, the suspects also used ice cubes so that the contents of the 3 kilogram LPG gas cylinders could be transferred to empty LPG cylinders measuring 12 kilograms and 50 kilograms.

"To fill the gas, the size of 12 kilograms requires 4 LPG gas cylinders with a capital of Rp. 80,000 to Rp. 100,000. To fill the 50 kilo gas cylinder, 17 LPG gas cylinders with a capital of Rp. 306 thousand to Rp. 340 thousand," he said.

The suspects then sold the gas from the postage in the Jakarta and Bekasi areas.

They also reaped hundreds of thousands of rupiah in profits from the one tube that had been mixed.

"The profit obtained by the suspects was Rp. 80,000 to Rp. 100,000 per cylinder for 12 kilograms of non-subsidized gas and for 50 kilograms of gas, the suspects made a profit of Rp. 560 thousand to Rp. 694 thousand per cylinder," said Panjiyoga.

In this case, the suspects were then charged with Article 40 number 9 of Law Number 6 of 2023 concerning Stipulation of Government Regulation in Lieu of Law Number 2 of 2022 concerning Job Creation into Law on Amendments to the provisions of Article 55 of Law Number 22 of 2001 concerning Oil and Gas. Earth and or Article 62 Paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 8 Paragraph (1) letters b and c of Law 1999 concerning Consumer Protection and or Article 32 Paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 31 of Law Number 2 of 1981 concerning Legal Metrology.
