JAKARTA PT Pelindo Solusi Logistik (SPSL), Pelindo subholding in the logistics sector, provides container scanners in the customs area or Temporary Hoarding Site (TPS) of PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya. This step aims to increase efficiency and security of the flow of export-import goods in ports.
President Director of SPSL, Joko Noerhudha, stated that the provision of container scanners is part of the company's commitment to increasing transparency and efficiency in the port and logistics sectors.
This initiative is in line with the Asta Cita pillar which is a guideline for the government and supports the creation of a more organized, transparent, and corruption-free national logistics ecosystem.
"This step can reduce potential delays and support the smooth running of exports-imports, which ultimately contribute to national economic growth and strengthen Indonesia as an integrated logistics center," said Joko, Thursday, February 13.
This x-ray-based scanning technology is expected to accelerate the process of entering and leaving goods at ports, increase logistics efficiency, and contribute to Indonesia's competitiveness in global trade.
Director of Commercial and Engineering of SPSL, Ruri I. Rachmaputri, emphasized that the application of this scanning technology is part of port modernization that has been carried out in several main ports, such as Medan, Jakarta, Semarang, and Surabaya.
With this container scanner, the inspection process of goods will be faster, more accurate and transparent. This supports the smooth flow of national logistics and strengthens the security of the flow of goods through ports. In addition, this initiative plays an important role in increasing the competitiveness of port services in the international world," said Ruri.
According to him, the use of an x-ray-based container scanner is a strategic step in accelerating modernization and increasing port operational efficiency in Indonesia.
Previously, this technology was implemented at Tanjung Priok Port on December 18, 2024, with the installation of four units of similar equipment in the Pelindo work area of Logistics Group Solutions, which is part of a total of nine units operated at the port.
The implementation of container scanners at Tanjung Priok Port is expected to increase world confidence in the security of goods flows in Indonesia. This year, we will accelerate the implementation of this tool at Tanjung Perak Port, Surabaya, and expand its use to a number of other major ports," said Ruri.

During a working visit to PT Terminal Petikes Surabaya, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said that installing container scanners with x-ray technology allows the overall detection of container contents.
"In the future, all ports will use x-rays that can see 100 percent of the container content," said Sri Mulyani.
With the application of this technology, SPSL seeks to increase the effectiveness of port services and support the progress of the national logistics ecosystem.
