JAKARTA - Minister of Environment (LH)/Head of the Environmental Control Agency (BPLH) Hanif Faisol Nurofiq said his party would soon increase the status of the Lido Special Economic Zone (SEZ) case from supervision to investigation.
"In the near future, we will raise its status from supervision to investigation and hopefully in the not too distant future it will be investigated," said Minister of Environment/Head of BPLH Hanif in a working meeting with Commission XII of the DPR RI at the Senayan Parliament Complex, Jakarta on Wednesday, which was confiscated by Antara.
He said the investigation was carried out because of alleged violations, one of which was the absence of environmental documents for development. Previously, the construction of the area was carried out by PT Lido Nirwana Parahyangan before being taken over by PT MNC Land Lido in 2013.
However, the new manager did not renew environmental documents that needed to be implemented as technical requirements and when he was a SEZ his party did not have an environmental approval permit.
"It didn't exist at all and some warnings have been made," said Hanif.
Not only that, KLH also found that there had been a change in the area of Lake Lido's water body in Bogor Regency, West Java. From the original 24.78 hectares now, based on satellite imagery, to 11.9 hectares or a reduction of about 12.88 hectares.
"So this is already related to concrete evidence asking for permission to continue," he said.

On the same occasion, Deputy Chairman of Commission XII DPR RI Bambang Haryadi said that his party would summon PT MNC Land Lido as the manager of the Lido SEZ for continuing development activities after the KLH installed a warning board in the area due to findings of alleged violations.
Commission XII of the DPR RI has also conducted an inspection on Monday (10/2) with the Deputy for Law Enforcement of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry to install warning boards, one of which is in the construction of the Lido SEZ hotel.
"So we, the Minister, next week we will call them, we will clarify here. If necessary, if they are not present, we will summon them forcibly," said Bambang Haryadi.
