JAKARTA - The Muhammadiyah Central Executive (PP) has set 1 Ramadan 1446 Hijriah or the first day of fasting falls on Saturday, March 1, 2025. This determination was announced by the Secretary of PP Muhammadiyah M Sayuti.
"The Muhammadiyah Central Leadership has set 1 Ramadan 1446 Hijri falls on Saturday, March 1, 2025," Sayuti said at a press conference, Wednesday, February 12.
Sayuti said the determination was based on the results of the hakiki hisab in the form of a hilal which was guided by the Tarjih and Muhammadiyah PP tajdid.
"So that the hilal has been established at sunset on Friday, February 28, 2025 throughout Indonesia. The moon is above the horizon, therefore the hilal has been established in Indonesian territory on 1 Ramadan 1446 Hijriyah, thus falling on Saturday pahing March 1, 2025 AD," he said.
PP Muhammadiyah also stipulates Eid al-Fitr or 1 Syawal 1446 Hijri falls on Monday, March 31, 2025.
