The SAR Team Continues The Search For SB Izqza Express Victims Who Are Overturned In The Temangga Bulungan River

The joint SAR team is still searching for victims of the SB Izqza Express speedboat that overturned on the Temangga River, Tanjung Palas Tengah District, Bulungan, North Kalimantan (Kaltara).

Head of OPS for the Tarakan SAR Office, Dede Hariana, said that after the tragic incident, Basarnas, TNI, Polri, and BPBD Bulungan were still searching for three victims, namely M. David (7 years), Alfa Rezky Azka (6 years) and Andi Badinah (50 years).

"Until now, the team is still looking for the three missing victims, a number of equipment such as rubber boats, aquaeyes, medical equipment and communication tools that we use during the search. Hopefully today's search will produce results," said Dede, Tuesday, February 11.

Meanwhile, Bulungan Police Chief Kombes Rofiko Yunianto through PS Head of Public Relations Iptu Magdalena Lawai revealed that the unlucky Speedboat carried approximately 40 passengers.

"This accident occurred at around 13.15 WITA, the speedboat capsized and sank after hitting the wood, precisely in the Temangga River," said Magdalena.

"At that time the passengers had just returned from the location of the inauguration event in Tias village and would return to Berau (Kaltim) via Tanjung Selor using 2 speedboats, named Ikbal and Iqza Express," he continued.

During the evacuation, it was found that 4 victims died who had been taken to the morgue room at RSD Soemarno Sosroatmodjo Tanjung Selor.

The four victims who were found moments after the incident were Hj Andi Tinja (80) a resident of Lempake Village, Biatan District, Berau, East Kalimantan, Meme (35) a resident of Sumurut District (Berau), Hj Petanminnong (63) address Marking Hulu, Gunung Tabur District, Berau and Andi Herawati.

"Previously, the survivors were accommodated at the Bulungan social service after undergoing treatment at the RSD," he said.
