Polda Metro Forms Congestion Breaking Team Filled With Brimob-Sabhara, Acting Governor Of DKI: We Will Definitely Support

JAKARTA - Acting (Pj) Governor of DKI Jakarta Teguh Setyabudi expressed his support for the plan to form a congestion-breaking team by Polda Metro Jaya which is filled by members of Brimob and Sabhara.

According to Teguh, the involvement of police officers other than the Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya to unravel congestion in Jakarta can synergize with the ranks of the DKI Transportation Agency and Satpol PP

"Especially for the breaking team, of course later we will support and support with the existing equipment, whether it is the Transportation Service, Satpol PP, it will also involve related areas, especially in these crowded places," said Teguh at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Tuesday, February 11.

Teguh admitted that the discourse on the involvement of the traffic jam-breaking team had also been conveyed by the Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Karyoto at the Jaya 2025 Safety Operations rally.

According to Karyoto, Jakarta is still dealing with traffic congestion problems. The volume of traffic density has also increased every time crowded events are held. So, Polda Metro Jaya will help unravel congestion through the involvement of its members.

"We know, for example, at Senayan GBK there are 100 thousand people gathering. Of course, at the right time to start or finish disbandment, it is jammed. Now we support it in the framework of the 2025 Jaya safety operation, that's what is more direct inline from the Transportation Service," said Teguh.

"At least, during this Jaya safety operation, we assigned around 100 personnel directly. Then apart from personnel, there were cranes and tow trucks, and there were also issues regarding how to test the feasibility," he added.

It is known that the Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Karyoto formed a Congestion Breaking Team. Later, the team will not only contain traffic members (accident) but also from Sabhara and Brimob.

"The collaboration is rather new because usually the ones who control are traffic members, but I add Sabhara and Brimob members," said Karyoto.

Later, personnel from Brimob will patrol. So, if a congestion point is found, efforts can be made to immediately unravel. With this quick step, it is hoped that it can provide security and comfort for people who are active or driving.

Then, the Congestion Breaking Team will ride motorbikes. The goal is that they can get to traffic jams more quickly and immediately make efforts to break down.

"I have asked for the special traffic to be prepared and Sabhara for that special and they have a motorized movement. If you want to use a car, you just have to line up," said Karyoto.
