KPK Urged To Immediately Detain Hasto Suspect In The Harun Masiku Bribery Case And Opportunities For Investigation

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has been urged by the Indonesian Youth Student Coalition (KMPN) to immediately detain the Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto.

His role in the bribery case for the management of interim replacement (PAW) and the obstruction of the investigation have been revealed in the pretrial hearing at the South Jakarta District Court (PN).

"Hasto Kristiyanto regulates, controls, orders to do all bad deeds starting from arranging for Harun Masiku to be placed in the South Sumatra I electoral district, which is the basis of the PDIP mass even though it is not the mass base of Harun Masiku," said KMPN Coordinator Amril Loklomin in his action at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Monday, February 10.

Amril also said that the KPK had revealed Hasto's request that Riezky Aprilia, who should have been elected in the South Sumatra I electoral district, resign so that Harun Masiku could become a member of parliament. The politician's move hindered the investigation into the PAW bribery case of DPR members by asking to submerge cellphones was also conveyed in pretrial.

It didn't stop there, the survey results from LSI noted that 77 percent of people believed that Hasto was involved in the Harun Masiku case. As previously reported, Hasto's pretrial hearing at the South Jakarta District Court (PN) continues to run until today, Monday, February 10. The agenda is the examination of witnesses or experts from the KPK as the respondent.

The pretrial was filed because Hasto did not accept being named a suspect. He was entangled in the bribery case for the interim replacement (PAW) of members of the Indonesian House of Representatives together with Donny Tri Istiqomah, who is a lawyer and PDIP cadre.

In addition, Hasto was also named a suspect in the obstruction of the investigation. He is suspected of obstructing the KPK's move to arrest Harun Masiku in the 2020 hand arrest operation (OTT).

Registered lawsuits with case number 5/Pid.Pra/2025/PN JKT.SEL and Djumyanto act as sole judges.
