Foreign Minister Lavrov Says Russia Can Maintain Peace Based On World War II Law Results

JAKARTA - Russia will be able to maintain peace based on the legal results of World War II, despite the intrigue of parties who do not like or the revival of neocolonialism, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in a video speech to commemorate Russian Diplomat Day.

"Today, when Russia is once again faced with crucial challenges, its main task and sacred duty are to maintain peace based on World War II law results," Russia's top diplomat said in a video message released on the Russian Foreign Ministry website.

The top Russian diplomat expressed his belief, "this noble goal will be achieved, despite all the efforts of our sympathizers and open enemies to falsify historical facts, revive Nazism and militarism, and limit dialogue and international cooperation in suppressing Russia and other rivals for the sake of domination through power and neocolonialism."

According to Lavrov, Russia will continue to do everything necessary to protect national interests in the context of foreign policy support for special military operations and efforts to create safer and more favorable conditions for the development of our country and improving the welfare of our citizens."

He stressed that Russia would "enhanced cooperation in various aspects with all reasonable partners and, especially, the global majority," as he referred to the former Soviet republic, Eurasia Raya, as well as African and Latin American countries.

In addition, Russia will also contribute to "strengthen the foundations of multipolarity, create a comprehensive security architecture across Eurasia, and establish an international cooperation mechanism that is not subject to the destructive influence of Western minorities," the Russian Foreign Minister said.
