JAKARTA - The Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board held a National Conference (Munas) of Alim Ulama Nahdlatul Ulama 2025 on 5-7 February 2025 to discuss various things. One of them is the involvement in conflicts between other countries.

"We provide assistance in conflict countries is fardlu kifayah, in the context of individuals involving themselves in conflicts of other countries," said Chairman of the Bahtsul Commission Masail Waqiiyah Cholil Nafis in Jakarta, Antara, Thursday, January 6.

The Alim Ulama National Conference is the highest forum after the Congress which discussed a number of religious issues related to social life. This event was divided into three commissions, namely waqiiyah, maudluiyah, and qanuniyah.

Cholil Nafis said that the forum he led discussed two problems, namely self-engagement in conflicts between other countries and the slaughter and distribution of hajj dams.

Regarding the first problem, Kiai Cholil explained that involving self-involvement in conflicts in other countries by providing assistance is fardu kafayah. The assistance can be in the form of medicines or food needs.

"It is possible and the law is fardu kafayah, meaning collective obligations between us," he said.

He explained that this must follow the legal mechanism between countries so that without the country's permission it is haram. If without the country's permission, it will add to slander and damage.

Meanwhile, the Maudluiyah Commission discussed six problems, namely Murur and tanazul without mabit, mabit in Muzdalifah and Mina between taabbudi and ta'aqquli, tax problems in Islam, philanthropic fiqh, allegiance as social political contracts, and Muslim rights and obligations in non-Muslim countries.

The Qanuniyah Commission will discuss three issues, namely controlling alcoholic beverages, problems recording marriages, and limiting the prohibition of the use of social media for children.
