Identification Of Victims Of Ciawi Toll Accident, Police Open DVI Command Post

JAKARTA - The National Police opened the Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) post at the Ciawi Regional General Hospital (RSUD), Bogor. This step is related to the identification process for victims of deadly accidents that occurred at the Ciawi Toll Gate (GT).

"After the accident, the National Police have opened a DVI Command Post to carry out ante mortem process for victim identification purposes. The location is in front of the Ciawi Hospital's Body Room," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko in his statement, Wednesday, February 5.

In an effort to reveal the identity of the victim, the Ciawi Hospital is also said to have opened a quick response call center to support the search for information for the community or the victim's family.

"People who want to find information can visit our post at the Ciawi Hospital or can contact the Ciawi Hospital Call Center at 081111113622," he said.

The number of victims who died was known to be eight people. Two of them have been identified on behalf of Budiman (45) and Yana Mulyana (49) who are residents of Sukabumi Regency, West Java.

"Currently, the victim died in the ante mortem identification process by the West Java Police Dokkes Team and the Inafis Team," he said.

Meanwhile, for injured victims, five out of eleven people have been allowed to go home. While others are still undergoing intensive care.

"Currently, five people have gone home and the remaining six people are still being treated at the Ciawi Hospital. Three people are moderately injured and three people are seriously injured," said Trunoyudo.

The fatal accident was known to have occurred Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at around 23.30 WIB. Starting from a gallon truck traveling from Ciawi to Jakarta. Then it is suspected that the brakes failed right at the toll gate.

Thus, the truck crashed into five other vehicles. Where, three vehicles including a truck caught fire and others were crushed.

As a result of the accident, 19 people became victims, 11 of whom were injured. There were three seriously injured victims. They are Bendi Wijaya; Dany Nursamsu; and Sukanta who are Jasa Marga officers.

Meanwhile, 8 people were recorded for minor injuries. They are Ari Nuharom; Wahyudin; Nurdin Ahyani; Yogi Satrio; Yosep Irawan; Dasep Naseh; Sugiarti; and Ryuji Adriana.
