Former Tangerang Regent Denies Involvement In Pagar Laut In Tangerang

TANGERANG - Former Tangerang Regent, Ahmed Zaki Iskandar, denied allegations linking his name to the existence of a sea fence on the Tangerang coast on Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) 2.

The rebuttal was related to PIK 2's attorney, Muannas Alaidid, who mentioned Zaki through his social media. Muannas uploaded a photo of Zaki in the past with a bamboo fence background in the Tangerang Sea.

"That the photo with several fellow journalists visited the coast of Tangerang Regency, along the coast from Dadap to Kronjo," Zaki said when confirmed by VOI, Tuesday, January 28.

"But the one who installed it at that time didn't know who and for what purpose, I also don't know, and also other media colleagues, no one focused on the fences at all," he continued.

Zaki admitted that he did not know the owner of the sea fence contained in a photo of himself in the past. He also admitted that he did not realize that there was a sea fence when he was photographed at that time.

"What I said in 2014 was that we were not focused on the fence installed. (Moreover) for the authority area, the Tangerang Regency KKP service, only the coastline was, for the sea it was the Banten Provincial KKP Service," he said.

Previously, PIK 2's attorney, Muannas Alaidid, through his social media account, @Muannas Alaidid uploaded a photo showing former Tangerang Regent Ahmed Zaki Iskanda making a working visit on the coast of Tangerang Regency.

In the upload, Muannas said that in the Zaki Iskandar era, the Tangerang Regent had installed fences made of bamboo on the Tangerang coast.

Muannas then emphasized that the sea fences were installed before Joko Widodo (Jokowi) became the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia.
