NTB - Police arrested three perpetrators of theft of onions belonging to farmers in East Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province.
"The alleged perpetrators are Ms (45), Ag (37) and Sb (25) residents of Sembalun District," said Head of Public Relations of the East Lombok Police, AKP Nicolas Oesman in East Lombok, Friday, January 24, as reported by Antara.
He said the three perpetrators were arrested at their respective homes after the victim reported the incident. The three of them are now being held at the Sembalun Police.
This theft incident started when the victim went to the rice fields to see the onion plants. However, the victim was shocked that his onion plant was damaged and lost by others.
"For this incident, the victim did not immediately report to the police, but preferred to find out first the perpetrators of the onion thieves, by visiting several markets that were suspected of being targeted by the perpetrators to sell onions from their actions," he said.
When visiting Masbagik Market, the victim received information that a new onion trader had sold at a cheap price of Rp. 10 thousand per kilogram. The number of onions sold by the trader reached 150 kilograms (kg).
The striking selling price because at that time the onion was Rp. 14,000 per kilogram, making the victim suspicious. After having strong evidence, the victim immediately went to the Sembalun Police Station to report the case of his lost onions.
