JAKARTA The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) conducted a search of the house of a former member of the Presidential Advisory Council (Wantimpres), Djan Faridz, located on Jalan Borobudur, Central Jakarta. The search was carried out on Wednesday night, January 22, 2025, in the context of investigating the fugitive Harun Masiku case.

At around 01.05 WIB, Thursday, January 23, investigators left Djan Faridz's house with two medium-sized suitcases, a small suitcase, a cardboard box, and a jejing bag (totebag) suspected of containing evidence related to the case.

The search process began at 20.00 WIB. A total of eight black SUVs were used by the KPK team during the operation.

KPK spokesman, Tessa Mahardhika Sugiarto, confirmed the existence of this search. "It's true, this search is related to the case of suspect Harun Masiku," said Tessa when confirmed in Jakarta on Wednesday night.

However, Tessa admitted that she had not been able to provide further information on the details of the search, including specific findings from the house. "The search process is still ongoing, so detailed information will be conveyed once completed," he explained.

Tessa also confirmed that the house that was searched belonged to someone with the initials DF, referring to Djan Faridz.

Harun Masiku is a fugitive from the KPK who is a suspect in the alleged bribery case related to the determination of members of the Indonesian House of Representatives for the 2019-2024 period through the interim replacement mechanism (PAW). Although he has been a fugitive since 2020, Harun Masiku has yet to be found.

The KPK's move to search Djan Faridz's house shows the anti-corruption agency's efforts to expand the scope of investigations and searches for Harun Masiku.
