Lost After Planting Pamit, West Lampung Resident Found Dead Allegedly Mandated By Tigers

JAKARTA - A resident was allegedly killed by a Sumatran tiger while gardening in Talang Kubu Balak, Pekon (Village) Kereringan, Batu Brak District, West Lampung, on Tuesday, January 21.

Kapolsek Bandar Negeri Suoh (BNS) Iptu Andi Junaidi said the victim was Zainudin alias Pon (28), who was previously reported missing while going gardening on Sunday 19 January.

"On Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at around 18:00 WIB, the BNS Police received a report from the Head of the Hamlet Melebui Balak, Pekon Tembelang that a resident died allegedly being attacked by a tiger," he said in South Lampung, Wednesday, January 22, which was confiscated by Antara.

He explained that the victim was found in a very pathetic condition, there were bite marks of wild animals and pieces of the bones of the hands separated from his body.

According to him, the chronology of the incident began when his party received a report regarding a missing person on Tuesday, January 21 at around 18:00 WIB.

"After receiving the report, we immediately went to Melebui Balak Hamlet which borders Talang Kubu Balak, Way Lipu Hamlet, Pekon, Kereringan, Batu Brak District," he said.

Joint officers coordinated with other related parties to prepare for the evacuation of the victim's body from the garden.

"The joint team has conducted deliberations to evacuate the victim's body which is thought to be in the bush around his garden, preparations are made safely and conducive," he said.
