JAKARTA - Minister of P2MI/BP2MI, Abdul Kadir Karding ensured that his party continues to seek to free and repatriate 10 TKW in Saudi Arabia and four Indonesian citizens in Myanmar.
Karding said his party had followed up on a request for a number of female workers (TKW) who experienced violence in Saudi Arabia to be sent back to their homeland.
"All reports that come to us, we follow up, there is no need for procedural, we will follow up on unprocedural and we will verify them first, but if he is there (forcing violence), it is checked, we will definitely follow up," said Karding at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, January 22.
Karding admitted that his party received many complaints from PMI. Including 4 Indonesian citizens who were held captive in the conflict zone in Myanmar and asked President Prabowo Subianto for help to be released.
"What we are trying to do is continue to try to free up the remaining ones, of course I can't tell you how because it will affect them later," said Karding.
Karding said the P2MI Ministry had coordinated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and security forces in the country. This includes encouraging diplomacy with the Thai military who control the border area.
Even though two Indonesian citizens have been released, Karding is reluctant to reveal how the government will release the other two hostages. "Later, it can't be opened, we're just trying it out," said the PKB politician.
It is known that ten female workers (TKW) in Saudi Arabia asked President Prabowo to be sent home. They claimed to have been tortured while working in Saudi Arabia.
The abuses obtained include physical violence, isolation, and not being fed. In their petition video, these TKWs can be seen begging while crying in fear.
Meanwhile, 4 Indonesian citizens also circulated on social media claiming to be being held captive and tortured in Myanmar. They laughed at the help of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto.
