The Ministry Of Transmigration Wants To Improve HR By Building Superior Education In Transmigration Areas

JAKARTA - In an effort to improve the quality and equitable distribution of Human Resources (HR) in various regions in Indonesia, the Ministry of Transmigration (Kementrans) plans to build superior schools and universities in transmigration areas. One of the things that is being reviewed is the Papua region.

"We want human resources there to be able to build their own environment and area," said Deputy Minister of Transmigration (Wamentrans) Viva Yoga Mauladi after a working meeting with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (Kemendiktisaintek), as quoted from his official statement received in Jakarta, Sunday.

He stated that improving the quality of education in transmigration areas is important because quality human resources are the key to development.

Viva Yoga said that transmigrant children who are able to become superior human resources can strengthen the transmigration area to become one of the driving machines for the national economy to achieve eight percent growth.

He said that so far the transmigration area has contributed to poverty alleviation, improving people's standard of living, building national food barns, and strengthening and integrating the nation.

Seeing the importance of education for the development of transmigration areas, his party also encouraged the construction of superior schools and universities in transmigration areas whose students are transmigrant children. One of these excellent schools will be built in Papua.

Viva Yoga said that the Ministry of Transmigration's plan to build superior schools in transmigration areas received full support from the Ministry of Education and Technology.

Later, the Ministry of Transmigration and the Ministry of Education and Technology will coordinate technically regarding what is needed to realize the collaboration.

"With superior human resources, it will accelerate the transmigration area to become a more advanced, modern, and capable of creating new creations and innovations," he added.

Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology (Mendiktisaintek) Satryo Soemantri Brodjonegoro stated that his party is ready to help develop distance learning in collaboration with local universities, support Patriot's LPDP scholarships, and provide assistance in industrialization development in transmigration areas.

"This is a noble goal. We are ready to support it," said Satryo Soemantri Brodjonegoro in a working meeting with the Ministry of Transmigration.
