Teenager Drowns While Hunting Pig Pest Found Dead

BANDA ACEH - A teenager named Hanifa (17) from Batee Linteung, Simpang Tiga District, Aceh Besar who drowned in the Krueng Aceh River in Kuta Malaka District, a local district while hunting for wild boar pests was found dead.

"The results of the search on the fourth day the victim was found dead," said Head of BPBD Aceh Besar, Ridwan Jamil, in Aceh Besar, Saturday.

Previously, the teenager reportedly drowned in the Krueng Aceh River, Kuta Malaka District while hunting wild boar pests on Wednesday (15/1).

While hunting for a pig, the victim at that time ran towards the river and spontaneously jumped into the river.

The victim had asked for help, but the efforts of his colleagues to save were unsuccessful, eventually dragged by the current and drowned.

Since then the Aceh Besar BPBD team together with Basarnas, TNI/Polri, the community, and other elements conducted a search, until the victim's body was found today in the Beurawe bridge area, Banda Aceh.

Ridwan explained, on the fourth day of operation the SAR team expanded sweeping along the river by using a rubber boat from the Lubuk bridge point, Want Jaya District, towards Banda Aceh. The search also uses SAR-owned drones.

At 10.40 WIB the search was successful, the victim was found near the Beurawe bridge by the Banda Aceh City Basarnas team in a state of death.

"Furthermore, the victim was handed over to the family and taken to the Zainoel Abidin General Hospital (RSUZA) Banda Aceh, and the search operation was closed," said Ridwan Jamil.
