Golkar Says There Has Been No Discussion On Jokowi-Gibran Joining Through The Party Wing

JAKARTA - Golkar Party politician Maman Abdurrahman said there had been no discussion regarding the closeness of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo and his son, Vice President (Vice President) Gibran Rakabuming Raka to Golkar through party wing organizations.

Maman assessed that the plan for the presence of Vice President Gibran in the 65th Anniversary of the Gotong Royong Family Conference (MKGR) on Saturday, January 18, was limited to representing the government.

MKGR is one of the wing organizations of the Golkar Party, which is currently led by Adies Kadir. Adies is currently also part of the central management structure of the Golkar Party as deputy chairman.

"As far as I know, there has been no discussion (of the meeting of Jokowi and Gibran, ed.). So, what I know is that Mas Gibran's presence represents the government to attend the event," said Maman, when met on the sidelines of his activities in Jakarta, Friday, January 17, was confiscated by Antara.

Despite the various issues that developed, Maman said he also could not confirm Gibran's presence at the MKGR Anniversary event.

"I also don't know if the final is present or not, but (Gibran, ed.) represents the President, because the President is unable to attend, because there is another agenda. That's what I know," said Maman.

At the same location, General Chairperson of Pro-Jokowi Volunteers (Projo) Budi Arie Setiadi assessed the issue that said Jokowi wanted to enter Golkar as speculation.

He said anyone was free to join any party, including Jokowi and Vice President Gibran.

Regarding the issue that Gibran stated that he would move closer to Golkar through MKGR, Budi Arie asked the public to wait.

"Yes, we'll just have to wait. Wait, wait tomorrow," said Budi Arie.

Chairman (Ketum) of the MKGR Adies Kadier told reporters when he was met in Jakarta this week that Vice President Gibran might attend his organization's anniversary event in Jakarta, Saturday.

"God willing, the Vice President will attend the event," said Adies.

He explained that the series of Anniversary events also included a national working meeting (Rakernas) and the organizational deliberation assembly (MPO), which is the second-highest deliberation forum after a large deliberation.

In the MPO, administrators and members have the opportunity to evaluate, add or reduce the ranks of the chairman of the board in the organization's management.
