GORONTALO - The Boalemo Resort Police (Polres) transferred police officers related to allegations of molesting a resident of Hungayonaa Village, Boalemo Regency, Gorontalo.

Boalemo Police Chief AKBP Sigit Rahayudi said his party had invited 16 witnesses who were at the location when a series of incidents of alleged abuse occurred.

"The perpetrator is serving at the Tilamuta Police, I will first pull him to the Resort Police," said Sigit as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, January 15.

After that, his party will conduct a case related to whether the police action fulfills the elements of persecution or not.

In handling this incident, Propam was asked not to examine the police as a police officer, but like civilians. The goal is that they do not defend each other's professions.

Currently, the police cannot be declared as the perpetrator or suspect because they must be proven by accurate data and facts.

The police chief asked the public not to be easily provoked by issues that are not necessarily true because basically the Boalemo Police have made efforts to handle it professionally.

Meanwhile, TK (29), a resident of Hungayonaa Village, Tilamuta District, who was suspected of being a victim of police abuse, said the abuse occurred while he and his colleagues were enjoying New Year's Eve celebrations.

"The location of the incident was inside and in front of my house, and the perpetrator was a police officer who served at the Tilamuta Police," said TK.

TK tells that this incident began when he was playing fireworks in the middle of the road. At that time, he was reprimanded by several of his colleagues.

He admitted that he had previously consumed alcoholic beverages, so he felt offended and angry at his colleague's warning, then vented his anger by shouting while blocking several vehicles passing around the road.

The action was considered prone to problems, then a colleague immediately persuaded and calmed down to invite the kindergarten to return home.

While at home, he said, three police officers dressed in official clothes came while trying to handcuff their hands to be secured to the Tilamuta Police. However, he was not willing and insisted on staying at home.

At that time, several acts of abuse occurred by police officers, causing bruises on the left eye and under the right eye.

Not only that, he continued, when his hands were handcuffed, he was forced on a motorbike to be secured to the Tilamuta Police. However, he still insisted that he fell with a police officer until his elbow had abrasions.

The police immediately left after several kindergarten relatives came to ensure safety so that the person concerned would no longer cause trouble.

Feeling objected to the treatment of police officers, he and his family went to the Professional and Security Section (Propam) of the Boalemo Police to report the incident.

"Currently I have received a summons from the Resort Police, and I will not come. However, if it is a summons for a trial in court, I will come," he added.
