President Asks BP Haji To Hold Hajj Transparently

MEDAN - Deputy Chairperson of the Hajj Organizing Agency (BP Hajj) Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak said President Prabowo Subianto wanted the Hajj to be carried out transparently.

"Mr. President Prabowo wants the implementation of the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage to be carried out in an accountable, transparent, safe and comfortable manner," he said in a collaboration dialogue in Medan, Monday, December 9.

BP Haji was formed at the ministry level with the aim that the Hajj services could be managed on a single roof.

He said this involved various relevant agencies to be able to be directly involved in the implementation of the pilgrimage.

"Currently, the public only knows that organizing the pilgrimage is only the responsibility of the Ministry of Religion," he said as quoted by ANTARA.

In fact, many agencies are involved, including the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Immigration and the Community.

The President also wants the Hajj to be held under BP Haji so that services are faster and more accelerated.

"Later on, the organizational structure of BP Haji will be filled from cross-institutions for organizing the pilgrimage. In fact, BP Haji will also be filled with several two-star generals from the prosecutor's office and the KPK (Corruption Eradication Commission)," he said.

According to Dahnil, BP Haji is currently focusing on organizing the organizational structure while waiting for the revision of Law Number 8 of 2019 concerning the Implementation of Hajj and Umrah.

There are three things that are important orientations for Hajj services delivered by President Prabowo, namely first paying attention to the duties and technicalities of organizing the pilgrimage.

"Hajj is an annual ritual and its implementation must be carried out safely, comfortably and efficiently," he said.

Second, the Hajj economic ecosystem must be a serious concern of BP Haji because the implementation of the pilgrimage has an impact on improving the community's economy.

"The Hajj dormitory can be managed as a center for economic development, and the Hajj clinic can function 24 hours not only in the Hajj season. In fact, it can be increased to a prime or main clinic, and a hajj hospital," said Danil.

Third, the history of Indonesia Hajj has become a symbol of progress, civilization, struggle, and Indonesia changing when the great figures KH Hasyim Asyari and KH Ahmad Dahlan return home from the pilgrimage to fight for independence.

"Hajj must be a symbol of Indonesian culture, it does not stop at a mortal meaning. The diversity of Hajj must have extraordinary benefits for the community, and be an example," said Dahnil.
